Jason Nelson aka ‘The Kilted Rogue Runner’ is a Royal Navy veteran, former UK and WA Police Officer and suicide survivor living with complex PTSD, Depression and Anxiety.
Two years ago Jason’s youngest daughter attempted suicide twice over a period of 3 months.
Jason credits the suffering he and his family has endured with providing him with the passion and drive to share his story in the hope that it helps other veterans, first responders and families with their own recovery journey.
Jason is currently a volunteer Peer Support Officer for WA Police and an active committee member of Sirens of Silence Charity Inc and promotes the 7 Principles of Recovery to help others.
Jason is a keen distance runner and to date has completed 22 marathons and numerous other distance events, distance running is one of the ways Jason practices mindfulness and a key focus of his mental fitness.
Jason is in the process of finishing a CERTIV in Mental Health and hopes to transition into working the mental health sector full time.’
